The New Adventures of Pinocchio is the charming sequel to the 1996 live-action movie. With a largely brand-new cast, the most important returning actor is Martin Landau as Geppetto. His role is pared down, however, by a neat twist in the tale. Udo Kier is the other returning actor, this time in the new bad guy/girl role of Madame Flambeau, whose carnival sets itself up in Pinocchios town & offers everyone a miracle elixir to change their lives. Pinocchio hopes the elixir will make his papa feel better from a nasty cold, but it turns out Flambeau tricked him with puppet-making juice. So now its Geppetto whos the wooden star of the show! Lots of surprises keep the story happily moving along, with secret identities waiting to spring from the likes of Warwick Davis as the ringleader Dwarf. The Jim Henson Studio puppets are first class as always, with some flawless computer graphics coming to the rescue every so often. Theres a beautiful backdrop of Luxembourg countryside too for this pantomime where everyone looks as if they had great fun putting it together.

Martin Landau is an American film & television actor. 1999. Landau was born in Brooklyn, New York & at the age of 17 began working as a cartoonist for the New York Daily News, but influenced by Charlie Chaplin & the escapism of the cinema, he pursued becoming an actor. He attended the Actors Studio in the same class with Steve McQueen & in 1957, Landau made his Broadway debut in Middle of the Night. Encouraged by his mentor Lee Strasberg, Landau also taught acting. Some of the actors he has coached include Jack Nicholson & Anjelica Huston. 1999, Landau moved on to a fruitful film career which included an Academy Award winning role as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood. He was also nominated for Oscars for his roles in Tucker & Crimes & Misdemeanors. 1999 co-star Barbara Bain. Landau & Bain married in 1957 & divorced in 1993. Udo Kier is a German actor. He began his acting career as a protegé of film director Rainer Werner Fassbinder, who was also his lover. He has starred in many vampire movies, such as Shadow of the Vampire & Blood for Dracula by Paul Morrissey, both as vampire & mere human. He has also starred in all of Lars von Trier s movies & is the godfather of Triers daughter Agnes. Udo also made an appearance alongside Brigitte Nielsen in Korn s music video Make Me Bad, as a military scientist conducting bizarre experiments on his patients. He is described in the making of of this video as having fucked-up eyes but hes funny as shit, by Korns frontman Jonathan Davis.
