Blue Crush is a 2002 movie about four female surfers in Hawaii. Blue Crush, starring Kate Bosworth & Michelle Rodriguez, is a story about four girls in Hawaii who dedicate themselves to the sport of surfing. Three of them are best friends, while one is the 14 year old sister of one of the three friends. On their way to trying to make it as professional surfers, the girls meet male antagonism, the pressures of competing against a professional champion & of work, love & friendship. They must also deal with traumatic experiences & hardship. At the end of the movie, they reach their goal of becoming recognized in the world of womens professional surfing. Michelle Rodriguez is an American born Puerto Rican - Dominican actress. At the age of 8, she moved to the Dominican Republic & at 11, she moved to Puerto Rico. She later moved to New Jersey. She was a struggling actress when she ran across an ad advertising an open casting call for a movie. That movie turned out to be Girlfight, where Michelle landed the starring role of Diana Guzman, a woman boxer. Girlfight was a low-budget, independent film. But Rodriguezs job was critically acclaimed & she began to become famous. She won various awards for her job in this movie, which became an unexpected hit among moviegoers. Subsequently, she has had notable characters in other hit movies. John Stockwell is an American actor, director, producer & writer. John has starred in film & on televsion. His first feature film as an actor came in 1981 in the movie So Fine. His well known roles came in the 1983 comedy film Losin It as Spider, later that year, he starred in the John Carpenter horror movie Christine as Dennis Guilder, the 1985 comedy film My Science Project as Michael Harlan & in 1986, he appeared in the hit film Top Gun as Cougar.
