The Adventures of Bayou Billy is a video game released in 1989 by Konami for the NES. It was released in Japan as Mad City in 1988. shooting, a side-scrolling beat em up & a third-person driving section. Unfortunately, all three modes were not well executed & the game remained unpopular among gamers, despite Konami s record of hit titles on the NES. During its release, Konami hyped the game & went as far to sign a deal with Archie comics, but nothing was worked with it. Part of the games unpopularity was due to a rather high difficulty level, making the game very hard to beat. Strangely, the Japanese release featured a much easier difficulty. The box art for the original Japanese release featured a hero who looked a lot like Paul Hogan, star of the Crocodile Dundee movies. The American box art is redrawn, the hero looking like a longhaired hillbilly, likely to avoid a lawsuit. The plot of the hero rescuing a kidnapped girlfriend from a mobster is also similar to that of Crocodile Dundee II. Posters Of Mad City

Mad City is an earnest effort at media criticism thats never convincing enough to stir a viewers outrage in the way filmmaker Costa-Gavras might have intended. John Travolta plays a barely educated museum guard who is laid off from his job & ends up holding his former boss & a bunch of schoolchildren hostage. Dustin Hoffman is a former television-network journalist making a grab at the limelight again by pushing & controlling press coverage of the story.

What follows is by the numbers & not nearly as enlightening or enthralling as other films about simple events manipulated into a media circus. Despite Travoltas tragic performance & Hoffmans impassioned one, the film breaks up over efforts to blame electronic voyeurism for social chaos.

Biography: Dustin Hoffman

Dustin Lee Hoffman is one of the dominant American film actors of the late twentieth century. Hoffman was born in Los Angeles, California & graduated from Los Angeles High School where he was voted least likely to succeed. His first ambition was to be a concert pianist & he attended the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music. Then, with an interest in medicine, he attended Santa Monica City College for a year before dropping out due to poor grades. In an effort to bolster his grades during that year, he took an acting class because he was told nobody flunks acting. He performed at the Pasadena Playhouse for two years with fellow actor Gene Hackman. The two were also roommates for a while. Hoffman relocated to New York City where he worked a series of odd jobs including an occasional small television role. To support himself, he left acting briefly to teach. In 1960, Hoffman landed a role in an off Broadway production & followed with a walk on role in a Broadway production in 1961. He dropped out of acting again, studied with Lee Strasberg & became a dedicated method actor. Posters Of Dustin Hoffman

Biography: John Travolta
[Top]
John Joseph Travolta is an American actor. He became famous for his appearance in Saturday Night Fever & Grease at the height of the disco era, as well as for his portrayal of Vinnie Barbarino on the television sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter. After that, his career more or less slumped until he played Vincent Vega in Quentin Tarantino s Pulp Fiction, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. Travolta also played a lead role in the panned   Battlefield Earth, in which he plays the leader of a group of aliens that enslave humanity in a bleak future Earth. The film received almost universally negative reviews & did not do well at the box office. Travolta, who is a Scientologist & idolizes the late L Ron Hubbard, had hoped that the film would be well-received & be the first in a series of Hubbard film adaptations. He is married to actress Kelly Preston & father of two children. Travolta is a qualified pilot & owns five airplanes, including a former Qantas Boeing 707 -138. His house in Florida has its own runway & taxiway right to the door. Posters Of Ladder 49
