The owner of a business is killed by one of his employees, who then marries the daughter , thinking he will kill her & inherit the business & the money. She manages to escape, & hides out with a group of gypsies.

Dont expect realism or art--this is out & out entertainment. Its got all the elements of a Bollywood film--villians, gypsies, a runaway heiress, songs, dances, fights & melodrama!

Asha Parekh was the top female star in Hindi films from 1959 to 1973 & continues to hold the record for starring in the maximum number of hit films. Asha Parekh was born in Bangalore. As a child, she was trained in Indian classical dance forms & did stage shows. She started her career as a child artiste. She became popular with her debut film as a heroine was Nasir Hussain s Dil Deke Dekho, opposite Shammi Kapoor. Before, she had been rejected for Vijay Bhatt s Goonj Uthi Shehnai, because the filmmaker didnt think that she was a good actress. Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Teesri Manzil, Baharon Ke Sapne, Pyar Ka Mausam & Caravan. She also did a cameo for his movie Manzil Manzil. He also got her involved in distribution of films for 21 years, starting with Baharon ke Sapne. Do Badan, Chirag & Main Tulsi Tere Aanghan Ki. Director Shakti Samanta gave her more dramatic roles in her other favorite films, Pagla Kahin Ka & Kati Patang, the latter earned her the Filmfare award as Best Actress.
