Dogs In Space
Background Information: Dogs In Space [Top] Dogs In Space is a 1987 Australian film set in the post-punk little band scene in Melbourne, in 1976. It was directed by Richard Lowenstein & starred Michael Hutchence as Sam, the drug-addled frontman of the band the film is named after. The character of Sam is based on Sam Sejavka, frontman of Melbourne post-punk band The Ears, with whom Lowenstein lived in the 1970s. The house Dogs In Space was filmed in is located in Richmond & is the same house Richard Lowenstein & Sam Sejavka lived in in the 1970s. It was rented from its new owners & unrenovated at considerable expense for the filming.
Consumer DVD Review [Top] I love this film & became very excited once I knew of its DVD format. However, the quality of is lacking to say the least! I have it already on a well worn VHS & quite honestly the quality is far superior to the DVD version. On the latest release it looks as if it has been filmed through a mesh or net curtain. Great film but the worst DVD I have laid eyes on. I did not buy it from amazon it has to be said but I do however feel that customers have a right to know how shoddy this product is. The company responsible, Maingrip, should be ashamed of themselves! Such a waste!-mike
