This movie has Keaton enjoying himself as the newspaper man trying to live up to his principles , balancing his ambition with the needs of his heavily pregnant journalist wife . Full of very cleaver moments, excellent casting & superb acting from a highly professional cast list. All benefit from the light touch of the one & only Ron Howard in the directors chair. This movie is a joy to watch, with some brilliant touchs but does not challenge the brain too much. If you like interlinking stories/characters coming together into a grand finale, then dont miss The Paper. For Tomei fans then this is the lady at her comic/dramatic peak although far from the depth of her later work. A very good buy.

So he couldnt use Mike Douglas or Michael Douglas. He picked Keaton after Buster Keaton, the silent-film star. Keaton is known for his work in films such as Batman, Beetlejuice & Multiplicity. Robert Duvall is an actor, born on January 5, 1931 in San Diego, California. He studied acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York. His screen debut was as Boo Radley in the critically acclaimed To Kill a Mockingbird but his breakout role was a decade later as Tom Hagen in The Godfather & The Godfather Part II. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in A Civil Action & for his role as Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now. Ronald William Howard is an American actor, film director & producer. Ron Howard first obtained recognition as the child with the lisp in the movie The Music Man with Robert Preston & Shirley Jones. His brother, Clint Howard, is a popular B-list actor. Rons father Rance Howard is also an actor. He then appeared in the role of Opie Taylor in the television series The Andy Griffith Show, portraying the son of the local sheriff in the fictional town of Mayberry, North Carolina. The credits referred to him as Ronny Howard. He attained film success with his role as Steve Bollander in George Lucas teen movie American Graffiti. Howard also is well known for his role as Richie Cunningham in televisions Happy Days where he played the likeable foil to Henry Winkler s Fonz. In 1977, while still starring on Happy Days, he directed his first film, a low budget comedy action film called Grand Theft Auto. After leaving Happy Days in 1980, he directed several TV movies.
