Saddle up for a cowboy Christmas in this adaption of Charles Dickens well loved story A Christmas Carol. The scene is transfered from Londons East End to a Wild West town in the Rocky mountains during the Gold Rush. Ebenezer is the miserable card-cheating miser, who owns the local saloon along with half the town. On Christmas Eve he is mysteriously visited by three apparitions who try to teach him the true spirit of Christmas. Will the lessons be learnt? Will Ebenezer show the improverished Bob Crachett any appreciation.

Although this tale is Westernized, it works here. Jack Palance performance of playing the redeemed & transformed Scrooge is excellent. Palances Scrooge converts just slowly enough that its believable & the townsfolk are at least initially reluctant to accept his transformed version. Overall, this warm hearted re-telling of the classic story will be loved by all. It works well !!

His co-starring role in the Western mini-series Lonesome Dove & its sequel, Return to Lonesome Dove, helped Schroders attempt at maturity. Still, it came as a surprise to much of the public when it was announced that he had been chosen to act in the series NYPD Blue, notorious for its partial nude scenes. Schroder only acted in NYPD Blue for three years, preferring to leave Hollywood with his family to life full-time on the familys ranch in Colorado.
