With great gore effects by Greg Nicotero & his gang , & some really bad cgi animated giant spider stuff , this is a strange mixture of cheesiness, dumb plotting, gallons of "the red stuff", bad acting....its marvellous! Hugely entertaining from start to finish, some amazingly bloody scenes of spiders "birthing" from inside people & a ridiculous plot that requires you to suspend more disbelief than is humanly possible. In short, a perfect Friday night flick accompanied by a few drinks, a few friends, & a bucket of popcorn. You wont be witnessing cinema history but you *will* be having fun. Its hard to hate a film this bad. The giant spider rampaging through the college campus at the end is hysterical.

Lana Parrilla is a contemporary American actress well known for her television work. A native of Brooklyn, Lanas father Sam was a professional baseball player for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1970s. Lana had roles in a few movies including the Matthew Modine - Martin Landau flick Very Mean Men, the lead role in the unsuccessfull Spiders & the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Replicant. Lana became noticed in the mainstream when she joined the cast of Spin City in 2000, playing Angie Ordonez for one season. After this, she joined Donnie Wahlberg, Jason Gedrick & Neal McDonough in the 2002 series Boomtown in which she played Teresa, a paramedic. Initially a success, Boomtown quickly fell in the ratings & Lanas character became a police academy rookie, so as to tie her more closely to the rest of the show. But the show was cancelled just two episodes into its second season. Lana next guest starred in shows such as JAG, NYPD Blue & Six Feet Under. In 2005, Lana took a recurring guest role on the fourth season of 24 as Sarah Gavin, a Counter Terrorist Unit agent.
