Jethro is a figure from the Hebrew Bible. He is called a priest of Midian & he becomes father-in-law to Moses. Jethro, also known as Reuel, is recorded as living in Midian, a territory stretching from east of the Dead Sea south onto the Sinai peninsula. He was likely a descendant of Abraham through Abrahams son named Midian. Jethros daughter, Zipporah, becomes Mosess wife after Moses flees Egypt, having killed an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew slave. Moses is said to have worked as a shepherd for Jethro for 40 years before returning to Egypt to lead the Hebrews to Canaan, the promised land. What we know concerning Jethro is recorded in the book of Exodus. Jethro is also considered by many to be synonymous with Shoaib, the muslim prophet. For some reason this particular figures history is quite convoluted in Muslim sources as compared to that of Judaeo-Christian. Possible reasons for this might be found at Sabians, Midian. Note that the article on Sabians indicates that Mohammed was in fact a Sabian.

Rule Britannia is a song, originating from the poem Rule Britannia by James Thomson & put to music by Thomas Arne in 1740. The song was included in a masque, Alfred, co-written by Thomson & David Mallet & first performed at Cliveden, country home of Frederick, Prince of Wales. At the time it appeared the song was not a celebration of the existing state of naval affairs as Britain did not rule the waves. However, over the next two centuries the Royal Navy became a dominant force on the oceans & protected Britain & her burgeoning Empire from a number of haughty tyrants & foreign strokes. The jesting lyrics of the mid-1700s assumed a material & patriotic significance by the end of the 19th century. The melody was the theme for a set of variations for piano by Ludwig van Beethoven. Rule Britannia is traditionally performed at the BBC s Last Night of the Proms, normally with a guest soloist. However, in recent years the inclusion of the song & other patriotic tunes has been much criticised & the presentation has been amended. Rule Britannia is also a novel by Daphne du Maurier.

I bought this video for for my dad, I chose it because it was rated originally as a 15 cert so I thought it wouldnt be "too" bad so far as language & smut were concerned, but I have to say Im sorry I got it. Although it has all the humour associated with Jethro, I was shocked & embarrassed to be viewing a video like this with my parents, If you like the humour of the "Jethro" portrayed on TV, I would avoid this video, if you dont mind many references to "F*****s, T**s, S******g" etc, by all means purchase this video. It is very funny, but the 15 cert is very mis-placed.
