Thomas & the Magic Railroad is a 2000 movie based on the television series, Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. It begins, when Lily is on her way to visit her Grandpa Burnett, but gets on a wrong train. Luckily she gets help from a tiny man, known as Mr Conductor, who shows her a world of magic. There is a friendly steam engine called Thomas who pulls the stream train line from the town of Shining Time to The Island of Sodor. But there is trouble about, as Diesel 10, a mean engine, has put out of commission one of Thomas friends, Lady. Normally Mr Conductor would be there in a flash, but he is out of magic gold dust. So Lily sets off with Thomas to find some more magic dust & stop the Diesel engines. The movie is directed by Britt Allcroft. Posters Of Thomas And The Magic Railroad

Thomas, as anyone familiar with the eponymous, wildly popular TV series knows, is a very useful engine, & never more so than in his first theatrical release, which was a modest box-office success. On a tank filled with little more than pluck, determination & goodwill, Thomas sets out full-steam ahead on a danger-fraught mission to help his friend Mr Conductor. The conductors stash of magic gold dust has run out, leaving him stranded on the Island of Sodor with Junior, his flaky cousin, & Lily, a little girl enlisted to lift her grandfather out of a funk on nearby Muffle Mountain. When Thomas bravely chugs beyond his hometown tracks buffers with Lily aboard, hes transported to Muffle Mountains secret railway & to Lady, a long-lost steamer whose legendary engine makes her more powerful than Diesel, the train-yard bully. Together, Thomas & Lady lead Diesel on a chase that causes a bridge to collapse, taking the dastardly Diesel down with it. Most impressive about the movie is its marquee names: Alec Baldwin works magic as the dutiful worrywart Mr Conductor, Mara Wilson is Lily & Peter Fonda plays the cool-looking but lugubrious Grandpa. Its a cast that will keep put-upon parents watching, if half-heartedly. Thomas fans of five years & under, meanwhile, will wish the actors wouldnt blow so much hot air; they will want to see their hero a bigger part in steaming up the storyline.

Alec Baldwin is an American actor who is the most famous of the Baldwin brothers, with brothers Daniel, Stephen & William. In 1998, he began narrating the American version of the childrens series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. He left the series in 2003. Peter Henry Fonda is an American actor. Born in New York City, he is the son of actor Henry Fonda, the brother of actress Jane Fonda & the father of actress Bridget Fonda. His mother, Frances Ford Seymour, committed suicide in 1950 when Peter was 11 years old. Peter Fonda studied acting in Omaha, Nebraska, his fathers home town. He attended the University of Omaha & joined the Omaha Community Playhouse, where many famous actors got their starts. Soon he was back in New York, then went to Hollywood to make movies. Fonda tried out for the part of the young John F Kennedy in PT 109, but didnt get the role. Instead, he appeared in such teen fare as Tammy & the Bachelor. His first serious role was in the 1966 motorcycle film The Wild Angels. It was at this point that he began to experiment with hallucinogenic drugs. John Lennon wrote the song She Said She Said about Fonda, who told him I know what its like to be dead following an LSD trip. Britt Allcroft is the founder of The Britt Allcroft Company which was acquired by Hit Entertainment in 2002. Allcroft is well known for her creation of the childrens television series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends & its US counterpart Shining Time Station. She was the director of the motion picture spinoff of Thomas the Tank Engine called Thomas & the Magic Railroad.
