Roderick David Stewart is an English singer of Scottish descent. Stewart was the youngest of five children born to Robert & Elsie Stewart. His parents owned a newsagents shop in North London & the family resided above the shop. Minutes before Rod Stewart was born in Highgate, London, a German V-2 rocket hit the police station just down the street & exploded. Over his lengthy career, Stewart has sung rock, standards, folk rock & pop & has achieved success at each. He has achieved 3 US number one albums over three decades. While he has been inconsistent at times, he is widely recognised as one of the best interpretive singers in recent decades & a consistent presence in the charts since the early 1970s. Rod Stewart started as an apprentice soccer player with Brentford F,C. based in West London. He soon switched to a career in music joining folk singer Wizz Jones in the early 1960s being deported from Spain for vagrancy. On his return to England, he went to Birmingham to join Jimmy Powell & the Five Dimensions as a vocalist & blues harp player. Posters Of Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart gives some heart felt renditions of some classic songs. From the lyrically stirring Rhythm of my Heart to the atmospheric Tom Waites Downtown Train. Rod defines the original version of these songs. The period of his carrer may not have been his most commercially succesful but from his own dedication to his children, Forever Young & his tribute to his singing heroes, The Mowtown Song, Rod can do no wrong. Classic singing from the voice of white soul.
