Hanson: Tulsa, Tokyo And In The Middle Of Nowhere
Background Information: Hanson [Top] Hanson, a pop/rock band beginning in the 1990s, was formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma by brothers Clarke Isaac Hanson, Jordan Taylor Hanson & Zachary Walker Hanson. Hanson is a melodic band that evokes memories of 1980s pop. As young children, the Hansons lived in Trinidad & Tobago, Ecuador & Venezuela due to their fathers job. There, they grew up listening to a Time / Life compilation of music from the 1950s & 1960s, along with the Latin American music that surrounded them, influencing their musical tastes. The band, which was originally called The Hanson Brothers, started out as three kids who sang a capella & recorded tapes with oldies like Rockin Robin, Splish Splash & Johnny B Goode, as well as a piece of their very own material. Their first performance as a professional group took place at the May Fest Arts Festival in Tulsa, in 1992. Later on, Isaac picked up a second hand guitar, Zac borrowed an old set of drums & Taylor became the keyboard player of what turned into a garage band.
