Background Information: Alanis Morissette [Top] Alanis Nadine Morissette is a successful Canadian singer-songwriter & occasional actress. Alanis Morissettes 1995 international debut Jagged Little Pill became one of the most successful albums of all time. Since the extraordinary success of Jagged Little Pill, Morissettes popularity has waned as singers such as Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera gained attention, though she is still one of the industrys premiere female singer/songwriters. Her latest album, So-Called Chaos, on which she received sole writing & co-producing credits, sold over 115,000 copies in its first week of release. Alanis Morissette was born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, to schoolteachers Alan & Georgia Morissette. She has an older brother, Chad & a twin brother, Wade. Consumer DVD Review [Top] Things to note about JLP live.
1. The version of "Wake Up" contains one of the most stunning guitar solos ever & totally blows the rest of Jagged Little Pill out of the water 2. The "unreleased songs" are only partially there 3. The interview & backstage footage is made up mostly of in-jokes & doesnt reveal much about alanis or her music 4. The amount of ridiculously low quality camcorder footage & needless changing between different concerts in the middle of songs is pretty annoying 5. Alanis live shows are absolutely brilliant So overall, the way the video is put together is a nice idea but doesnt really work - the New Orleans footage is clearly the best, why couldnt the whole video have been of that one concert? However, its worth putting up with this to see Alanis in action. just "Wake Up" alone is worth the price of the video Additional Articles & Resources: [Top] Live: | Wikipedia Article * |
